Watson steers Australia to record run chase

Jan 16, 2011

Shane Watson's 161 not out has guided Australia to a six-wicket win against England in the one-day international at the MCG in front of a crowd of 34,845.

Watson helped Australia to 4/297 from 49.1 overs, chasing down England's 294 all out and recording the highest ever successful run chase on one-day internationals at the MCG.

In the process, Watson scored the second-highest individual one-day innings at the MCG, trailing only Mark Waugh's 173 against the West Indies in 2000-01.
