Three million reasons to smile

Oct 04, 2011

The MCG's three-millionth patron Jane MacCallum with MCG events manager Trevor DohntThe 2011 AFL season was another highly successful one for MCG attendances, with the ground's three-millionth patron for the season clicking through the turnstiles at the AFL Grand Final.

Geelong Cats fan Jane MacCallum from Templestowe was the lucky patron, who scanned through Gate 1 in the Ponsford Stand to be greeted by Melbourne Cricket Club events general manager Trevor Dohnt with the good news.

Jane wins a $400 MCG Superstore voucher and dinner for two in the MCC dining room - a great prize just for coming to the footy!

Total MCG attendance for AFL matches in 2011 was 3,069,471 - average of 56,842 per match (56,036 in 2010).
