The Long Room in function mode. The MCG’s hospitality contractor Epicure Catering has been recognised for its outstanding function management, taking out the Products and Services category award for Catering/Banqueting at the 2008 MEA Meetings & Events Industry Awards.

The awards are the premier accolade of best industry management practice and outstanding performance in the Australian Meetings and Events industry.

Awards were judged by an independent consultant from many submissions responding to set criteria in two sections; Business Criteria and Year in Review Criteria.

The winning submission from Epicure provided details of Epicure’s extensive involvement in the Meeting Industry, together with details of Epicure’s history at the MCG.

“The award was a result of the hard work from all the staff involved at the MCG and the attention to detail at every level,” said Epicure’s David Mercer upon accepting the award.

MEA is a national, independent, not for profit organisation dedicated to fostering professionalism and excellence in all aspects of meetings management.

THE ongoing war between golf stars Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia shows no signs of abating.
