MCG welcomes one millionth footy fan

The MCG's one millionth AFL patron for 2010, Jasmine Jones, is presented with her Nestle Peters Footy Pack.The MCG has recorded its one millionth AFL patron for the 2010 season in just 19 matches, after Jasmine Jones from Taylor's Lakes clicked through the turnstiles prior to Sunday's Richmond v Hawthorn match. 

The MCG average attendance this season is 54,376, almost 4000 higher than at the same stage last season.

A Hawthorn fan, Jasmine received a “Nestle Peters Footy Pack”, which includes two adult memberships for 2011 from her AFL club of choice, an AFL club jumper and entry tickets, including dining for two people in the MCC Members Dining Room, to an AFL home and away match in 2010.

Already this season the MCG has broken 90,000 (Anzac Day) and 80,000 (Carlton v Collingwood, May 2), with three more games above 70,000.

The next big match is expected to be Collingwood vs Geelong Cats on Friday night, with both teams in top form.  The match will be broadcast live on Channel 7.
