Education Groups

Schools have the opportunity to do a regular tour of the MCG or choose themed tours such as MCG: Sport and War and MCG: Sport and Art.

A literacy program has been developed called Writing Sports and also an arts program called Drawing Sports where students tour the MCG and partake in either writing or drawing exercises.

Usually, schools combine a tour of the MCG with a visit to the National Sports Museum (NSM). For more information, including NSM resources, please click here.

The People's Ground - Level 4 (Year 5/6)

On visiting the National Sports Museum and/or during a tour of the MCG, students explore how the MCG is more than a place to play cricket and football.

This unit, engages students in a “See, Think, Wonder” activity, allowing them to create a timeline tracking the important role the MCG has played in the history of Melbourne and working in groups to design and present their own tour of the MCG for a specific audience.
