Car parking advice for BBL patrons

Sunday, January 15, 2017

Patrons attending Big Bash League cricket at the MCG during the next two weeks are encouraged to arrive early and use public transport to get to the stadium.

With the Australian Open tennis being held in the precinct, car parking space in Yarra Park will be extremely limited.

Fans attending the BBL matches on Tuesday January 17 and Saturday January 21 are strongly advised to avoid driving to the MCG, with match times overlapping with night sessions at the tennis.

Metro Trains and Yarra Trams will be running additional services throughout the evening to help make the journey easier.

Attendees who cannot avoid driving are encouraged to arrive early and consider parking in the city or an area near to the ground; then walk or catch public transport to the stadium itself.

The bag checks and wanding processes which have occurred throughout 2016 will again take place at the stadium gates, and patrons should allow plenty of time to get into the stadium.

Car park Gate 3 will be the only Yarra Park vehicle entry for BBL patrons on January 17 and 21.

Should the Melbourne Stars host a semi final (January 24 or 25) or final (January 28), further details will be provided.
