The MCG will host one Marsh Sheffield Shield match throughout the final phase of the series, with the revised schedule announced by Cricket Australia today.The match – between Victoria and Tasmania from March 5 – will see Sheffield Shield cricket return to the MCG for the first time since December 7, 2019.
The series culminates in a final, starting on April 15, with the venue still to be announced.
The first phase of the competition was completed in a bio-secure hub in Adelaide, with the Victorian side playing two matches for two draws – against Western Australia and South Australia.
The remainder of the season will be played in a traditional home-and-away schedule, provided the public health environment is conducive to doing so.
The following match at the MCG will be played in a closed venue:
- March 5–8: Victoria v Tasmania
