It is shaping up to be a huge summer of domestic and international cricket, with the MCG set to host two Marsh Sheffield Shield matches and one fixture as part of the Marsh One-Day Cup in a welcome return to a full domestic season.
Victoria will face Tasmania at the MCG from November 24-27 as part of the Marsh Sheffield Shield competition before hosting Queensland from February 9-12, with the domestic schedule returning to its full format after a number of fixtures were impacted last summer due to COVID-19 border restrictions. Each state will play seven Marsh One-Day Cup games before the final in March 2023, with Victoria and Queensland to return to the ‘G on February 14.
This latest fixture release comes as the MCG prepares to host a number of huge events on the international cricket calendar starting in October with Australia, England, India, Pakistan, New Zealand and Afghanistan all featured as part of the T20 World Cup.
Australia will then meet England in a One-Day International on November 22 before hosting South Africa for the Boxing Day Test.
