The MCG is set to host a multitude of blockbuster matches as the AFL announces the dates and timings of Rounds 16-23 of the 2025 AFL Premiership Season.

Thirteen of the remaining 16 matches at the MCG have been confirmed. Round 24 remains a floating fixture, with the exact match dates to be confirmed closer to the round.

The final nine rounds of the season see intense rivalries, Grand Final re-matches and crucial games that will shape the look of the top eight heading into September.

A re-match of the 2017 AFL Grand Final between Richmond and the Adelaide Crows will be played in Round 16, before the intense rivalry of Carlton and Collingwood re-ignites in a Round 17 blockbuster on Friday July 4.

Round 18 will see Richmond and Essendon do battle for the second time this season, before Melbourne and North Melbourne also face each other for the second time – with Melbourne looking to make amends on their Round 2 defeat at the hands of the Kangaroos.

Carlton v Melbourne and Collingwood v Fremantle come to the MCG in Round 19, before Round 20 welcomes two matches of intense Victorian rivalry – Hawthorn v Carlton and Richmond v Collingwood.

The 2023 AFL Grand Final re-match, and current first versus second on the 2025 ladder headlines Round 21 on Saturday August 2, as Collingwood host the Brisbane Lions in a crucial match for the 2025 Finals Series.

Then, a triple-header of Victorian teams comes to the ‘G in Round 22; Hawthorn v Collingwood, Richmond v St Kilda and Melbourne v Western Bulldogs before a single game in Round 23 – Hawthorn v Melbourne on Saturday August 16.

The MCG will host three crucial matches in Round 24; Collingwood v Melbourne, Essendon v Carlton and Richmond v Geelong Cats, with the dates for these matches to be announced later in the year.
