Two hundred limited-edition Melbourne Cricket Ground light tower globes will go on sale via the MCG Shop at 8:30am AEST this Wednesday July 8.
These authentic metal halide globes were removed from the MCG light towers during the ground's 2020 upgrade to LED lights, with a limited number retained during the decommissioning process.
Each globe is individually mounted on a timber display that pays homage to the tower from which it came.
Every globe is unique, carrying the marks of the matches and moments it once illuminated.
With only 200 available, this is a genuine collector’s item and a rare opportunity to own a unique piece of MCG history. Each globe is priced at $495 (incl. GST), comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and must be collected in person from the MCG Shop. This item cannot be shipped.
