Celebrate Diwali at the MCG

The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) will celebrate Diwali with a program of activities from Friday October 30 to Wednesday November 11, recognising the long-standing connection between Australia, India and the MCG.
Diwali, the festival of lights, celebrates the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. Celebrated by millions of people worldwide, including many here in Melbourne, the festival holds deep significance for Hindu, Sikh, Jain and some Buddhist communities.
To celebrate, the MCG is offering visitors 30 per cent off tickets to MCG Tours and the Australian Sports Museum from Wednesday October 28 to Wednesday November 11. The tour includes the Shrine to Test Cricket and the MCG Honour Boards, which celebrate famous names such as Tendulkar, Kohli and Gavaskar and their connection to the stadium.
Families and friends are invited to take a Diwali photo at a backdrop at Gate 3 and share it online, tagging @mcg for a chance to win. From November 7 to November 9, visitors can also start their day with a free cup of masala chai inside Gate 3 from 10:00am to 12:00pm.
